New, sensible, and built to be used
What it is
A modern house finished in July 2021, a couple of miles from Olde Town Arvada.
Three bedrooms, five beds, three and a half baths, and room for eight without anyone sleeping on a sofa. It is not a retreat and it does not pretend to be one — it is a well-equipped, current house you can actually run a week out of.
Power and the car
The house is solar powered, and there is a Level 2 charger in the two-car garage, so the car is full every morning without a detour.
Beyond the garage there is driveway and street parking, which matters when two cars turn up and one of them has skis on the roof.
Sleeping
A primary bedroom with a king bed and large windows, a second bedroom off the hallway with its own ensuite, and a bunk room with a twin-over-full bunk.
Five beds in total, which is what makes eight people work rather than just fit.
Washing up
Three and a half baths — full and half — including a double-vanity bath with a tiled shower, so the morning does not turn into a queue.
Washer and dryer in the house, and a linen closet kept stocked with towels.
Dogs welcome
Pets are allowed here. Tell us who is coming when you write and we will confirm the details with your total.
Air conditioning throughout, a keypad for self check-in, and smoke and carbon monoxide alarms fitted.
Working a day
A dedicated workspace with a desk in the living room, WiFi, and a full kitchen with stainless appliances and an island with stools.
Enough to hold a normal working day together before the afternoon goes to the mountains.

Everything the house keeps on hand
A base camp, not a destination
Arvada sits where the city stops and the mountains start. Olde Town Arvada is a couple of miles from the door. Downtown Denver and Red Rocks are close. The hiking in Golden and Boulder is world-class, and the ski resorts are within day-trip range — which is the whole argument for staying out here rather than downtown.
Denver International Airport is about half an hour away. Put the car in the garage, plug it in, and drive out in the morning.
